Musings [193 words]

Every few mornings I find myself going down a Wikipedia wormhole related to hockey. This morning brought me to everything related to the 2018 Humboldt Broncos bus crash (one year ago yesterday). The accident took 16 lives from the team, including trainers, coaches, and players. But mostly, I found myself thinking about the truck driver who was at fault and forgiveness. Two years ago our family lost Joy in a car accident, it was determined the driver of the other vehicle was at fault, and he too died as a result. For the most part I haven’t thought of forgiveness or otherwise, as all of my energy and thoughts go towards thinking of Joy an our family. Forgiveness comes to me immediately. I’m not sure if this is a trait that I was raised with, something I learned elsewhere, or something I’ve formed on my own. But I have an incredible amount of faith that this world can get to a better place if we can spend a little more time learning how to forgive, and it certainly shouldn’t take death for us to get there. And those are my thoughts this morning.
