Musings [178 words]

This is something I talked about recently, annoying realistic dreams. This is an extension of that. Last night’s nightmare was realistic, though not probable.

I woke up in fear, that I was going to trial with tremendous evidence against me that in 2007 I had murdered a high school classmate and former hockey teammate. His name is Anthony, and he’s such a nice guy, and I would never murder Anthony. He’s also someone I haven’t seen or particularly thought of in a long time. But there I was, scared to be heading to court, for a murder I had no recollection of committing.

What happened to the fun dreams? That dreams that defied the laws of physics, that were fantastical, with goblins and creatures? Is this how it goes with growing older, your dreams just become more and more about things that could actually take place in reality?

This is not what I signed up for. I want the outlandish dreams. In the words of Mitch Hedberg, I want to dream about “building a go-cart with my ex-landlord.”
