Musings [181 words]

I found myself so excited to return to Lake Superior this morning after being gone for a few days. One could say I had FOMO. What I had I missed? Was the ice still there? What ice formations were along the shore? How much water was exposed? Was she smooth as glass or would she be roaring?

People can and should have a spiritual connection with nature. And it’s certainly not that I haven’t in the past, but this project has really brought that out within me. Really, so much of this project is about Lake Superior. A few days away does create that longing to be back with her.

Though I’m finding myself a little sad. I was astonished as I watched her shores change every day through January and February and now there is little ice left along the shore almost no ice visible towards the horizon.

I’ve long said, that somewhere out there, my soul is buried. I don’t care to go get it, I just know that I’ll keep coming back, and I like it that way.
