Musings [192 words]

In Marquette, we are currently in the midst of the snowiest winter the city has seen in over a decade. The snow is starting to fall again, with an estimated 12-18 inches predicted over the next 24 hours. I think it’s God’s gift to me of a magical season after comitting to photograph every sunrise.

I’ve learned that the difficult sunrise mornings have nothing to do with the weather, how much sleep I had the night before, or how early I have to get up. It almost entirely has to do with having obligations post-sunrise. Now these weekend mornings, I’m beginning to cherish, it’s my time where interruptions are few and I can ease into the day and let me creativity do its thing.

It’s been a long time since I’ve loved the weekend. Most weekends of 2018 were full of dread, with the high likelihood of another weekend spent alone, and just looking forward to Monday. Part of this sunrise goal has to find my old comfort in being alone. Slowly, it might be working.

Fuel more Sunrises

There is plenty more to come from Year of the Sunrise. You can always add a cup of coffee to keep me going strong in the mornings, or a tank of gas to get me to some new places, as the sun keeps rising.
