Musings [186 words]

Day 45. Valentine’s Day has long been one of my favorite days of the year. The only reason not to like it is all the whiny naysers, or those who accuse it of being a Hallmark holiday. I mean what a bummer that we have a holiday decidated to love. Would they prefer a day dedicated to hate and anger? And who cares if you don’t have a romantic Valentine’s Day. If that’s your expectation going into it, yoiu’re setting yourself up for failure. It’s about sweet treats and cheap punny little cards. Being in elementary school and receiving Ninja Turtle valentines left warm fuzzies that still ring true today. Sure, I want romance and flowers and a nice dinner. But in lieu of all that, the cheezy cards and puns are amazing! So yeah. Please don’t whine about Valentine’s Day in my prsennce today, or you’ll be receiving an earful about how it’s one of the greatest days of the year.

To quote my friend Khalid…

“I love this holiday because it’s an extra opportunity to love the people you already love.” – Eat Pomegranate
