There was something nice about this project before everyone in my circle knew about it. It was a quiet and private endeavor entirely for me. However, if an creator is investing an incredible amount of time and energy on a project, should they not put it into the public spehere and try to make a living from it? Especially as it takes away from other things one should be focusing on, like paid client work.

Back in the Daily Fruit era, it may not have been as fulfilling to journal if it had this following and publicity. Now it’s still certainly fulfilling, but there’s a bit of a shift where it’s fulfilling and I begin to think about how a photo will be perceived rather than what photo delights myself.

When a project enters a public sphere it’s difficult to not let it be influenced by public discourse.

On the other hand, so what if Green Day sold out.
