Musings [252 words]
It has taken 36 years, 4 months, and 20 days to get to this moment. What got me to this moment has been significantly out of my control, but fully within my responsibility.
I grew up in the Upper Peninsula, and for some reason that was something I latched onto. I grew up in a family that always had cameras around. I grew up with a mom who loves to watch the sunset, apprecaite flowers, and seek waterfalls. At thirteen I made my first website. Throughout my teens I journaled constantly.
Maybe twenty years from now I’ll look back at that time I got half way through a project of photographing every sunrise in a year. Maybe it’s not a big deal at all. But in twenty years, there will be something I’ll look back on. In the future when I look back to 2019 there won’t be my kids to think about, a partner or spouse, not even pets, there will hardly be many shared memories with friends. Maybe this project is insurance that I have something nice to look back on twenty years from now.
Here’s to another six months.

Fuel more Sunrises
There is plenty more to come from Year of the Sunrise. You can always add a cup of coffee to keep me going strong in the mornings, or a tank of gas to get me to some new places, as the sun keeps rising.
