Imposter syndrome is running on high today.

A year of alarms

By choice, I’ve decided to live by the alarm. Making sure I’m up before the sunrise. And I wonder, is living by the alarm a good way of life? It’s still this artificial thing telling your body to get up before its ready on its own. It is an entire year not allowing myself to sleep in. Certainly farmers must sleep in on some days, like holidays perhaps? And even people working the morning shift have days off work.

This week has been a struggle.

Whatever.

Last night my friend Chris and his girlfriend were visiting Marquette for their first time. After checking out Yellow Dog Falls we headed to Wetmore Landing, which inspired me returning there this morning. And when I did, I found Chris’ footprint perfectly preserved in what was now a thin frozen layer of sand.
